Miller Theater celebrates the groundbreaking avant-garde of Eastern Europe with a series of two concerts, featuring Ana-Maria Avram and Iancu Dumitrescu (March 5th). The first concert on March 3rd is that of composer Ana Maria Avram, born in Bucharest, Romania in 1961 her propulsive music often synthesizes electroacoustic and instrumental sources. While informed by mathematical techniques, Avram is drawn to the dynamic nature of sound as independently shaped by each performer or listener.
