This innovative series at Anthology Film Archives examines the legacy of French colonialism by putting films from France and African-Francophone countries in conversation with one another. There are six films in all including Jean-Luc's Godard's "Alphaville," starring Anna Karina. However, the true "highlight" and if you can see only one film it would be Jean Rouch's "Little By Little," a nearly four hour film (shown Saturday at 7:30 pm) The film follows Damoure Zika as he travels to Paris with goal of learning about the construction of tall buildings but turns his attention to what he views as the strangeness of French Life.
