The Film Forum is now showing a series of Double Features, and one of my favorites on the bill is that of "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" and "The Young Girls of Rochefort. Both films directed by Jacques Demy and starring Catherined Deneuve , and her real-life sister Francoise Dorleac stars with her in "Rochefort." In "Umbrellas" (1964)  a colorful-fantasy romantic musical, a film when made in 1964 had never seen before, and probably not today either. The film won the top prize at Cannes, and the 20-year old Deneuve, won Best Actress. In "Rochefort" the dancing and singing continue with Gene Kelly and Jacques Perrin join in on the fun also.
