Nobel laureate in literature Luigi Pirandello (1867-1936) has had tremendous influence on theater and film around the world via deeply probed themes of illusion and identity. His stories and novels, evoked the sights, the sounds, and the smells of his native Sicily. For one week (January 13-19) Film Forum will be showing seven films that were drawn/based on his stories. The films include the following: "Six Characters in Search of an Author" (1976) "The Late Mathias Pascal," Tu Ridi" (1998) "Liola,"(1964) "The Nanny," (1999) and the my top recommendation; "Kaos," by the Taviani Brothers (1984) based on four separate Sicilian tales of Pirandello.
