One of Africa'a most popular and recognized musicians, Habib Koite' is a modern troubadour with extraordinary appeal as his musicianship, wit, and wisdom translates across cultures. The guitarist and composer most recent release "Soa" (which translates to  'home') looks squarely at his native country, Mali - a country torn apart by violence in the past two years, and the need for coming together. He formed his band Bamba in 1988.
